Founding of Club
The Kiwanis Club of Johnson City was organized February 18, 1920 & chartered May 14, 1920. The club began with just under thirty members and has grown to its current membership of over one hundred members . Over the years, the club has held many fundraisers, including pancake breakfasts, a pizza booth at the Appalachian District Fair, and other events. We help out in the community in a variety of ways, including sponsoring youth groups, raising money to benefit children and children’s support groups, and providing scholarships. The club has enjoyed a rich history over the years, with its members coming from a wide array of fields and backgrounds including medicine, law, finance, accounting, business, civil service, education, management, and many others.
